John Brookshire

John has more than 20 years of experience investigating traffic collisions. He began his career with the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office in Cherokee County, Georgia in 2002. John spent more than half his career assigned to the Traffic Unit, where he directly investigated or supervised the investigation of more than 200 fatal or serious injury crashes and more than 1000 less severe crashes. John attained his ACTAR accreditation in 2021 and has been declared as an expert witness in multiple courts. His professional courtroom demeanor is often cited by jurors as swaying their decision-making when reviewing the facts. In addition to his ACTAR accreditation, John is a certified Drug Recognition Expert Instructor (DRE), who has also testified to the signs of symptoms of drug and alcohol impairment in numerous cases. John currently teaches impaired driving and crash reconstruction classes for the Prosecuting Attorney's Council of Georgia.
